IJCA Verify a certificate

Certification & Examination Rules

Provisional version. To be adopted by the IJCA Technical Committee. The level requirements published on this site are the reference for every test.

Effective 29 September 2026

1. The standard

IJCA certifies jump rope ability at ten levels (Lv.1–Lv.10) in four tiers: ROOKIE (Lv.1–3, LEARN), COACH (Lv.4–6, TEACH), PRO (Lv.7–9, PERFORM) and MASTER (Lv.10, LEAD). The requirements for each level are published on the Certification pages and are the only basis for assessment.

2. What is assessed

  • Skills — the level's listed techniques, each performed the required number of times.
  • Routine — a composed sequence, required from Lv.4 upward.
  • SPEED (30") — jumps counted in 30 seconds: basic jumps at ROOKIE (40, 60 and 80 at Lv.1–3) and speed steps from COACH upward (55 at Lv.4 to 85 at Lv.9).
  • MASTER (Lv.10) is awarded through a separate expert review, not a Skills, Routine or SPEED test. Candidates need COACH Lv.6 or higher and five or more years of coaching experience, and are assessed on coaching, development, judging & events, global activity and contribution.

3. Where and by whom

Tests are held at IJCA accredited test centers or approved group-test venues and assessed by IJCA Certified Examiners. Until the Examiner qualification opens, examiners are designated by IJCA headquarters. The examiner is recorded with every result.

4. Results and issuance

  1. The test center registers the candidate's result.
  2. IJCA headquarters reviews and approves it. A certificate number is assigned only on approval.
  3. The certificate can then be verified online — by number and full name, or by its QR code — and printed by the holder from "My certificates".

5. Test video

Official Test Centers keep a video of each test for one year and provide it to IJCA on request, for example to review a result.

6. Retests

A candidate who does not pass may retest no earlier than 14 days later, at the center's next test date. Retest fees are set by the center.

7. Questions about a result

A candidate, or a parent or guardian, who believes a result is wrong may write to [email protected] (subject: "Result review") within 30 days of the test, giving the certificate or application details and the reason. IJCA may request the test video and review the result. IJCA's decision after review is final.

8. Revocation

IJCA may revoke a certificate that was issued in error, obtained dishonestly, or registered in breach of these Rules or the Code of Ethics. A revoked certificate keeps its number but is shown as Revoked when verified.

9. Validity

A level certificate confirms the level achieved on the test date and does not expire.
