IJCA Verify a certificate

IJCA Certification System

Twelve Jump Rope levels for every jumper, plus four Coach Levels for the people who teach and certify them.

Two certifications, one system

Jump Rope Certification for every jumper, and Coach Certification for the people who teach and certify them.

  • Jump Rope Certification
  • Coach Certification
  • For everyone, from children to adults — twelve levels in four stages, from Starter to Master. Levels 1–3 are free.
  • For people who teach — each Coach Level teaches, assesses and certifies one stage of the Jump Rope Certification.
IJCA certification

One global standard for every jumper.

IJCA certification measures jump rope ability the same way everywhere — the same skills, the same routine rules and the same 30-second speed test, wherever in the world you are tested.

12 Levels in four stages

The IJCA principle

Learn → Grow → Get certified → Teach → Certify

  1. Learn
  2. Grow
  3. Get certified
  4. Teach
  5. Certify
  • Start with the basics at an IJCA center.
  • Climb the levels, one clear goal at a time.
  • Pass the level and receive a numbered certificate.
  • Become a coach and pass on what you learned.
  • Assess and certify the next jumpers in your stage.
Jump Rope Certification · Level 1–12

Twelve levels, four stages.

Every jumper climbs the same twelve levels — Starter, Advanced, Professional and Master.

  • Starter
  • Advanced
  • Professional
  • Master
  • Lv.1–3
  • Lv.4–6
  • Lv.7–9
  • Lv.10–12
  • Starter — Levels 1–3, free for everyone: pick up a rope, learn the basics and enjoy jumping.
  • Advanced — Levels 4–6: learn jump rope seriously and link skills into routines.
  • Professional — Levels 7–9: high-level skills, routines and performance.
  • Master — Levels 10–12: routine-only levels at the top of the system.

Three assessment areas

Skill, Routine and 30 sec Speed — each level uses the areas that apply to it.

  • Skill
  • Routine
  • 30 sec Speed
  • Every required skill of the level. Misses are counted across the whole skill test.
  • A set routine of about 60–70 seconds, assessed in 8-count sections. From Level 4.
  • Reach the level's count in 30 seconds. Levels 1–9.
  • Pass: 0–5 misses
  • Pass: 0–2 misses per 8 counts
  • Pass: the level's count or more
  • Fail: 6 or more misses
  • Fail: 3 or more misses in an 8-count section
  • Fail: fewer than the level's count

Pass every assessment area that applies to your level to earn its IJCA Jump Rope Certification. Failing any one area means the level is not passed.

  • 2
  • ≥
  • Max misses across all skills
  • Max misses per 8 counts
  • At or above the level's 30-second count
